Current Focus – Jobs & Routines

C5 children are very capable and eager to help their classroom stay organized and smoothly run.  Children volunteer to perform jobs, such as laying out cots, because it gives them a sense of independence and ownership.  Moreover, children want to participate in classroom jobs because it meets their need to help each other.  Practicing routines, such as transitions and hand-washing, afford children the reassurance of knowing up-coming events and how to navigate through them.  C5 believes that offering jobs and creating routines help children be active members in their classroom, gain autonomy through volunteerism, and feel a sense of partnership with their peers.  Learn more about our Preschool Program.
