Our Festival of Learning begins this year on April 24th with presentations of in-depth explorations and projects at San Francisco State. The festival lasts until the end of May.
Every day during the festival we celebrate the children, their work, and those who support them. Events include:
— A gala Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in the Great Hall that is attended by all 150 C5 Infants through Pre-K children, their parents, and community members and is launched by a civic dignitary who is the festival of Learning Grand Marshall.
— There is an extensive online exhibit of children’s work that includes videos and background on each learning group, with annotations by teachers and commentary from parents.
— Every learning group goes into public for brief sessions on one or more days and continues their usual explorations and expressions, demonstrating how powerful and amazing young children are.
— There are group tours of the centers by appointment.
— A raffle is held to raise money for scholarships.
— Several early childhood programs and college students are expected to participate.
