C5 Children’s School’s Connections is a Private, Secure Website for Enrolled Families and Staff

It is also made available to your extended family members anywhere in the world, whom you allow to have access. It is also for selected early childhood professionals on special assignments who want to know how we have developed and use our website as a comprehensive information exchange with children, parents, family members, and staff.

Every element on the Website is interactive, so there are frequent comments, dialogues, and surveys for scheduling or opinion gathering. A few of the many features on the site are:

Each with:

  • Daily Stories – It is a regular account, with a description of what is happening in the classroom every day, and usually 10-20 photos of children working, playing, sleeping and eating.  Each photo has a place for a teacher annotation and a place for family comments. Families can easily download any photo or the entire Daily Story gallery of photos.
  • Weekly Plans – These are flexible outlines based on an emergent curriculum, with an idea of what might happen in the classroom each day and suggestions for what parents can do each day to support it.
  • A Flow of the Day – This overview shows what generally happens throughout the day in each classroom, so families can know and plan how to interact any time that they wish.
  • News & Notes – THese are posted by teachers, parents, and family members.
  • Explorations and Projects – This area features a more detailed presentation than can be found in the Daily Stories.
  • Parent Comments – Each photo has a place for comments and a section at the bottom of the Daily Story is also available for comments and dialogue to occur, if desired.

The Home-School Journal is your private forum to communicate important information between your family and your child’s Primary Teacher. It includes portfolio postings for your child and individualized announcements, assessment information, and schedule coordinating.

Announcements are the most immediate messages of importance to the whole enrolled community. They are also archived, reaching back several years.

General Information is a section for most of the key topics and policies that parents and family members want to know. It is easily accessible by category.

The School Calendar is a downloadable Google interactive calendar with all of the program events and details about each.

Your Profile is easily modifiable at any time. You can subscribe or opt out of receiving notices when posts are made to your favorite areas of the site.

Chefables is our caterer. The company was founded and is operated by an executive chef and his select team, who daily provide high quality food that is mostly organic, locally sourced, and cooked or baked from scratch. They have a full-time baker and dietician. Monthly menus and newsletters are posted on Connections. Learn more about them at chefables.com.

The Parent-Family Handbook is our extensive manual for how the program works. It is part of the enrollment contract for parents to understand and agree to before enrolling.

It is available for reference at any time, and important new information is included when it become available. A recent example is the comprehensive steps our program took over two years to mitigate the Coronavirus.

Extended Family Members can be given access to the Connections website with your permission. They can then have access anytime to the site to follow what is happening daily with their grandchild, niece, nephew, or younger brother or sister.An online permission form is available.

A Search Engine is available to find any information that you want on the site, including gaining to access the most recent posts.
