The Pre-K children in the Redwood Classroom developed a strong interest in robots that led to them wanting to make their own. They asked parents to help them to bring in loose parts and old appliances that could be used to make the robot. The teachers also put that suggestion in the flexible Weekly Plan that is posted in the Pre-K forum on our private website, Connections. Dozens of items came in, so the children set up a table in the Gathering Area outside of their classroom to receive them and made a sign for the table. They also put on the table tools, tape, glue, screws, nails, various size boxes, cardboard tubes, and many more recycled materials to be reused for their robot. They are still working on it!
